The best place to show off your new bikini is on the beach. Beaches all around the world have women sporting this type of bathing suit. Even during the Grecian Era, women athletes were know to wear bikinis when engaging in sports.

Bikinis come in different styles, colors, and materials. The one thing that defines a bikini is that it consists of two separate parts. One part covers the breasts, the other part covers the groin area. The stomach, or part of it, is typically revealed.

This two-piece suit is now one of the most popular fashion statements on the beach. A typical bikini resembles women’s underwear with more or less detail.

A bikini can be daring or conservative, depending on what the wearer chooses to don. Some bikinis are so skimpy that they barely cover anything at all. Others, like the tankini, are designed closer to the traditional one piece suit, the difference is that they come in two separate pieces.

Beach bikinis were made popular during the 1960s by a song, and a few movies. It became an iconic symbol for sexiness after Ursula Andress sported one in a James Bond movie.

The bikini can be quite revealing; however, it is also generally comfortable to wear. Most women prefer two-piece swim suits because you do not have to take off the whole suit to go to the bathroom. Plus, it also makes a better tan line.
